Dave Welch was born in Washington state and lived on a small farm throughout his early years. His family moved to Texas at the age of 15. His love of music was apparent at a very early age and he began writing original songs as early as age six. Dave was inspired early on by Rock and Roll legends of the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s as well as their country counterparts. His inspirations included artists such as Buddy Holly, The Beatles and The Troggs as well as Johnny Cash, Jim Reeves and Waylon Jennings. At age 17 Dave enlisted in the Marine Corps and used his musical talents to entertain his fellow Marines during multiple overseas deployments as well as during their time stationed at home in the United States.
With two tours in Iraq and over eight years of honorable service, Dave left the Marine Corps to pursue his family and his music. After years of playing with and writing for rock bands, he came full circle and returned to his country roots. While there are indeed a wide variety of individuals, artists and circumstances that influence Dave’s music the goal remains the same: To sing about real life and entertain the hell out of folks.
